The presence of an actual villain who could ruin everyone else’s lives is a good friction, but I am disappointed because it turns out X threatened people only because he wanted to find and convince A to be buddies with him. His chapters are all about taking advantage of his nature by doing shit, knowing there’ll be no real consequence to him. In Someday, Reverend Poole - or X - is written as the clear threat.

In the previous book, Reverend Poole was a villain, but he wasn’t the ultimate plotter of evil. The book picks up a month after A left Rhiannon with Alexander. I just can’t decide if I personally like it. But I understand the value of exposition provided by writing from, say, X’s point of view. I still don’t know how I feel about that I honestly prefer to just stay inside A and Rhiannon’s head. There are others ( “there are always others” - see what I did there? LOL) but they’re more accessories than actual drivers to the story. Two notable voices were from Nathan’s and Reverend Poole’s, only now he’s called by his preferred name, X. You should already have an idea how excited I was when I saw Someday, the long-awaited sequel, displayed in our local bookstore. And I was dying to know what would happen to their story. I’ve read both books a lot of times, sometimes even side by side so I can get both A and Rhiannon’s perspective one after the other. I aspire to love like A, to love beyond body and right through the soul. I think its love story is as inspiring as Nicholas Sparks’ The Notebook. Before I start talking about Someday, let me tell you first where I’m coming from.
